The Town wishes to thank the public for their patience during the construction of the new sewer main on Lower Oak Street in November/December 2023, and your continued patience with the trench that was paved with temporary pavement at this location. This section of sewer main was in dire need of replacement. The Contractor has shut down operations for the winter, and will return in late April/early May 2024. The Contractor has completed approximately 30% of the project scope. The Contractor still needs to install sewer services on Lower Oak Street to the edge of the right of way for each customer, install sewer main and services within the right of way on Railroad Avenue, and install 13 replacement manholes on Oak Street and Sawtelle Road. The remainder of the work is likely to take up to 2 months to complete. We again thank you for your patience while we complete this important work on the infrastructure in Oakland.
