On Wednesday March 25^th, 2026, the Oakland Town Council will conduct a Public Hearing beginning at 5:30p.m. at the Oakland Fire Station Atlantic Room to present information and receive input from Oakland Citizens regarding a 90 Day Mobile Home Park Rent Moratorium.

All interested citizens are welcome to attend and to comment on this proposed moratorium.

The Town will also be placing a lien on the July and October 2025 sewer bills on March 16, 2026.

Public Notice: West Nile Virus Detected in 2 Crows
Date: October 24, 2025

The Town of Oakland has been notified that two crows from Oakland tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) on October 22, 2025.

While the risk to humans remains low, residents are encouraged to take steps to protect themselves and reduce mosquito exposure. Please visit our website for more information from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) for details on mosquito bite prevention and mosquito control.

The Town of Oakland has engaged KRT Appraisal to conduct a full property tax revaluation of all properties in the Town of Oakland. This project will begin in Spring of 2025 and will continue until the summer of 2026.
